Individualized and Comprehensive Democracy Plans: LPL works with cities to develop these plans that include evidence-based policy approaches to help cities meet their specific goals and address existing challenges. LPL encourages cities to explore democracy innovations (e.g., voter engagement plans, citizen assemblies, democracy vouchers, participatory budgeting). We then help local officials implement and pilot innovations and policies, and support them in engaging with community members and organizations who are often left out of the policy-making process.

Convening a Network to connect local officials that are dedicated to protecting and strengthening democracy, centering justice and equity, and improving civic engagement in their communities. The Network – which is open to any local government that supports these goals – includes a diverse array of cities from across the country. There is no cost to join the LPL Network.
